Probably.
I do remember being reprimanded for telling other 1st graders their parents were lying to them: there was no Santa Claus, and it was just their Dads in costume.
Heck.. after I left the Witnesses, I found out there *is* a Santa Claus!

No, not really.
Since I was never certain whether I (or my family members) would live or die, as based on JW standards, I wasn't in a hurry for it to come.

i've found that even though i was raised a jw, but never baptized, i'm pretty much still shunned.
i can still talk to them, but they pretty much they still treat me the same.

i've had something happen to me at work and i just need some opinions .... i work at a store where i am the only female employee.
we were short handed these past two weeks because someone quit and the new guy doesn't start until monday so they got a guy from another store to come fill in.
i hardly know this guy except for him talking to me about business related things.
In any kind of non-consenting-partner capacity, comments such as this should not be tolerated. There is a work world, and it's important that boundaries be maintained so that business as usual can go on. This was threatening and intimidating to you because it was unwanted. Please report this to your manager, and let the cards fall where they may. The more times that indivuduals report this type of lewd and unwanted behavior, the more it will be disciplined and unsupported.

this is probably prompted by the fact that i had a dream about someone last night who we used to be pretty good friends with prior to us leaving the org.
also another couple we used to be friends with gave birth to their first child last month and we'd love to see them.
here's the obvious: .
That's a nice, normal thing to be concerned about your friends. Is it a nice normal thing that when you show your concern they will shun you?
You're already gone in their views. Once a person leaves the JW's, no one cares anymore. Actually, they never cared about you at all... they just cared about you as long as you were a JW and feeding into the machine.
I used to care, now I don't. You need to not care. Hard, but manageable.

my vote for the worst watchtower term is:.
circumcision of the heart!.
i can't believe that there are people who can not only say "circumcision of the heart" with a straight face in front of the congregation, but defend its 'meaning'.. other runners up in my opinion:.
"Eating at the table of demons."
"Well, if I am brainwashed, good! My brain needed a good cleansing!" <ugh>
"Great day of God the Almighty"
"celestial kingdom" ... oh wait.. that's Mormons

um... i think that a poster here was posting about their involvement in a case that sounded reeeeally similar to this one?
here is the case article from cnn: .
mayor won't resign despite pleading guilty to indecency .
No, this is not me. Nor is it him.
I am prohibited from speaking about this as a result of a mutual gag order in McKinney, Texas. Just suffice it to say that this cannot be brought up any more.

We were in the Greenwich Village/Orchard Park congregation for years. We lived in the country, and all the people in our congregation mostly went to Orchard park. You were in Greenwich? Bet I remember YOU.
